Find Your Quiet Place
Find your quiet place. With the hustle and bustle that drives many of your lives, it’s imperative that you find your quiet place. With the constant chatter of a busy but confused culture, make sure you find your quiet place. With the demands that come with being you, find your quiet place. With the pull to live happily ever after, find your quiet place. With all that comes with aging, waking up every day closer to eternity, partners, find your quiet place. Please know that a life that is devoid of this place where you can be both quiet and reflective, is ultimately going to crash and burn.
So, my encouragement is to create space where you can read and pray. Find time to just sit and be grateful. Let gratitude, first to God, arrest your soul. Lean confidently on the fact that you are unconditionally loved. Embrace the grace of God, until the peace of God absorbs you. Learn to celebrate the little things. Develop the capacity to live in the moment. For me, I love sitting outside and listening to nature. Every sound bespeaks of the subtlety of God who seeks to bond with us. I’m reminded that I’m valued and though judged by others, in the solitude I’m free to simply be.
In Luke 5:16, Jesus provides us with a wonderful example. In the GNV it reads, “But he would go away to lonely places, where he prayed.” I admonish each of you to know where your quiet space is and go there as often as possible. It will save you. It will heal you. It will refresh you.
Enjoy the journey and know that your life is an extraordinary expression of something bigger than the next Zoom meeting, promotion, or opportunity. Accept that you are flawed but not rejected. Give your best and when you have to, go to your QUIET PLACE!
